CAMPAIGN

NUS Black students campaign

The NUS Black Students’ Campaign is the largest constituency of Black students in Europe. It is there to represent students of African, Asian and Caribbean descent at a local and national level on all issues affecting black students.

Although Black students form 20 percent of NUS membership they are among the least represented groups in democratic and social structures.

The NUS therefore recognizes the need for reform and better representation. The NUS Black Student campaign therefore has developed four core functions

  1. To work with Black students and union officers to provide support and resources i.e. black clubs and societies and international groups
  2. To encourage widening participation in higher education
  3. To encourage students into national campaigns like: A prayer Room In Every College, Votes Are Power etc
  4. To influence the political and educational bodies that set policies and shape the Black community experience
