Things To See In Exeter

Exeter Cathedral

Exeter Cathedral is perhaps the most famous landmarks in Exeter. The Cathedral itself is over 850years old and is renowned for some of the best examples of Gothic architecture in the UK.

The cathedral also boasts some of the finest stained glass in England with a 60 foot high solid oak Bishops Chair and Angel Gabriel’s Chapel. Visitors come from around the world to see the Cathedral and it is one of the main focal points of the city.

Arts and Culture In Exeter
For arts and culture in Exeter you can see a plethora or professional and amateur dance, theatre, live art, music, film and visual art at Exeter Phoenix. The centre holds a large theatre, exhibition spaces and galleries. Events take place most evenings and there are discounts available for students. For art lovers, check out the Royal Albert Memorial Museum (RAMM). Some exhibitions maybe free for those on a budget. However, discounts for all exhibitions are available to students at al times.

Shopping In Exeter
Walking through the city centre you can see that Exeter demonstrates a love for the old and the new. City Centre Parks In Exeter

If you are a nature lover then Exeter could be the place for you. The Riverside Valley Park runs for 7 miles through Exeter from Cowley Bridge to Topsham. The valley is a large open green space conveniently situated close to Exeter’s city centre. The Park allows locals to enjoy a plethora of recreational activities including walking, cycling, boat trips and is ideally located for those lunchtime picnics. In addition to the Riverside Valley Park, just off the town centre, you can also enjoy the haven of the Northernhay and Rougemont Gardens which are beautifully interconnected and help to create a sense of the countryside within this rural city.

Exe Estuary In Exeter For wildlife in Exeter, the Exe Estuary is an area which has international significance. It is home to over 20,000 migrating birds and rare butterflies. The RSPB also has a base there and offers scenic wildlife cruises to any eager nature lovers.

Exeter University

Exeter University is renowned having one of the most beautiful campuses in England.
