A Career in Modelling is open to both men and women. Whilst a career as a model is said to be one of the most competitive careers there is the benefits and perks are extremely high.
A Career As A Model
Careers in Modelling are short lived but profitable. Your career can last up to 15 years. It is, for most, a part-time career as only a few of models actually make it as a full-time model.
To be a model you must be tall with a good physique and be extremely photogenic. Whilst you may have beauty is entirely down to your features whether the cameras likes you or not so why not take a few snaps and be honest with yourself! Not only do you have to be exceptionally slim you will also have to have height on your side. The average height for a girl is between 1,73m to 1,82m and for men they must be at least 1, 83.
Getting Into Modelling
You will have heard of many models that have been spotted by modeling scouts as they are shopping in town. However, this only happens to a small percentage of models within the profession. Many others will have to create their own portfolio of work to try and get on a modeling agency. A good portfolio by a professional photographer is essential when applying to agency’s
An agency will only take you on if they feel they have room for you on your books. You may have a good look but they may have just taken on a girl or guy with a similar look. So, if one says no do not get disheartened just keep applying. Once you are with a reputable agency they should be able to book you work for catwalks and photographic work. They should also offer you ongoing support with your diet, health and portfolio.
