Opportunities at SAC
SAC offers research opportunities
in the areas of:

Land Economy and the Environment: Rural Development, Rural Society, Policy & Strategy, Health Economics, Food Marketing & Supply, Biodiversity & Water Quality, and Environmental Economics.

Animal Health: Animal Nutrition & Health, Animal Health Economics, Avian Sciences, and Epidemiology.

Crops and Soil Systems: Host Defence Mechanisms, Disease Epidemiology, Soil/Plant Interactions, and Organic Systems.


Sustainable Livestock Systems: Hill & Mountain, Dairy, Animal Behaviour & Welfare, and Animal Breeding & Development. SAC offers taught postgraduate courses in Organic Farming, Business Management (Agriculture), and Applied Poultry Science, as well as the following PgDip/MSc courses run in conjunction with the University of Edinburgh:

 

Environmental Protection and Management: Postgraduates will be able to combine an understanding of environmental issues with capability in management of natural resources.

 

Ecological Economics: Students learn about the role that economics can play in the design and implementation of sustainable policies for ecosystem management. www.sac.ac.uk/learning
