The Art and Design Pre-Degree Foundation course is aimed at those who want to study Art and Design at university but are missing some of the key qualifications needed.
You will need at least one A Level, a BTEC National Diploma or an AVCE single award in Art and Design. Missing these? Don’t worry, all is not lost! If you are over 21 you can attend an interview with your portfolio and apply to the course that way. The Pre-Degree Foundation is a fabulous way to take your Art and Design skills places you didn’t think possible.
What the course involves...
You will have the chance to cover a whole range of Art and Design areas, like Drawing, 3D and Sculpture, Art History, Photography, Printmaking and much more besides. As the course goes on you will have to pick one area to focus on, allowing you to specialise in the area you most enjoy and/or are best at, and we all know we do better at things we enjoy!
After the course...
There are a number of options available to you after successfully completing the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design. You can either go on to study for a BA Degree or take a Higher National Diploma Course at an art college. Some prefer to use the BTEC Foundation Diploma in Art and Design as the kick-start to their career but wherever you want to go, the Foundation Diploma can take you there.
